how to activate your iPhone's new number when you move

This is a courtesy message to help Virgin Mobile not loose any more customers who are getting a new phone number programmed.  I moved and needed a new number, but 4 calls into your service left me wanting to leave Virgin Mobile for your competition.

First backup your phone, then update the iPhones to IOS 6.01, or something newer.  After Virgin Mobile has given you a new local number, then in the phone app dial:  ##873283# and press call.  It should accept it in minutes.

Please skip the following bad advice from Virgin Mobile:  A.) reset your device, B.) wait 2 hours, and even daringly C.) request you to factory reset your iPhone.
